Apologies for the lack of activity on the blog and in making the most of the network.
Quite a few people have struggled to sign up to the blog ring or to complete the process to allow their link to get added by the system. There isn’t a way to simplify this using the current ringsurf system so my thoughts have been to move to a different way of working to create more of a network where members can post things of interest too.
I’ve had this move on the back burner for quiet a while and hence neglecting putting energies into this blog. I felt a little overwhelmed at the idea of contacting everyone in the ring to explain the change and hadn’t even thought I could just blog about it!
So I’m hoping to make some changes in the coming months.
In the meantime if you are an artist, who also happens to have chronic illness or pain, and you would like to be included in the network and you struggle to sign up using the ringsurf system please drop me an email. Then I can at least add you to the blogroll here.
I’ll blog details as soon as I have them of the changeover and where to find the new network.
Thanks to everyone who has signed up (or tried to!).
We have new members on the blog ring so if you haven’t checked it out recently take a look at the blogroll and see what’s new.

Hi Rachael
I know you are busy, so thanks so much for putting effort into this! I have been guilty of not coming near the blog ring ‘cos I was not sure what it involved or how to use it but, as always, the best way is to dive in and find out!
So I am doing a bit of an edit of my profile and will go from there to explore.
Thanks again for your work

Thanks Adam. This is part of the reason I’d like to change where this all takes place so has the chance to be more of a network and not just a list.

The other day i ‘tidied’ my feedreader and found Chronic Artists, sitting there with no recent posts; i considered unsubbing but saw no point, and decided to keep hoping you’d be back. I only found this blog in time to read a couple of posts but i really like it.
On my ‘real’ blog i don’t talk about events in my real life, but my ’sub’ blog, the Travel Hopefully Slog, is about the progress of my writing and inevitably the daily fluctuations in fatigue and pain come into that.
I haven’t much of a ‘product’ to show the world, YET… i’m not really familiar with the blog ring ‘thing, but would mine be appropriate to this?
I really don’t feel you need to apologise for any hiatus, as after all your readership here must be more understanding of the reasons than in possibly any other context! 80)

Hello Mand. You’re very welcome here. I think a lot of artists, writers, musicians who have to navigate chronic illness or pain aren’t perhaps producing as much, as quickly or regularly, or quite the level of work they aspire to. Some struggle to do any. That doesn’t stop you being an artist or a writer or a musician.
Thanks for the kind words.
I’ll add you to the list here on the blog. If you want to try and sign up on the blog ring please do – this will give me your contact details and add you to the blog ring list proper. There is a link on the about page

Rachel, i’ve just tried to sign up but am getting the message ‘Confrom email address does not match’ even though i am definitely typing my e address correctly both times. If this is a bug it will be putting people off from joining…

Oh no. Sounds like a bug doesn’t it? Sooner I can sort out a new way of doing this the better!

Let us know when it’s sorted! Thanx.
